A parcel forwarding service is a company that provides a destination address in one country and then forwards packages from that address to another country where the customer resides. This is particularly useful for consumers who want to purchase goods from retailers that do not ship products internationally. Once the goods are delivered to the parcel forwarding service's address (typically located in the country of purchase), the service then manages the international shipping process to get the items to the customer's actual address.

Mostly, yes. A parcel forwarding service can be used for the majority of your international online purchases, but there are exceptions. Some retailers may have restrictions on shipping to parcel forwarding services due to their own policies or because of branded items that have international selling restrictions. Furthermore, certain goods are prohibited from international shipment, such as hazardous materials, perishable items, or controlled substances. Always check with the parcel forwarding service and the retailer to confirm that your items can be shipped accordingly.

Yes, when using a parcel forwarding service, your packages may be subject to customs inspections and import duties in your home country. The amount of duties and taxes depends on the specific laws of your country, the value of the items, and the type of goods being shipped. Most parcel forwarding services offer customs advice, but it is ultimately the customer's responsibility to pay any applicable charges to receive their items.

Delivery timeframes can vary widely based on the destination country, the shipping method chosen, and the service level of the parcel forwarding service. On average, express shipping options can take anywhere from 2-5 business days, while standard shipping may take 5-15 business days. Some services offer economy options that can take longer but may be more cost-effective. Delivery times can also be affected by customs processing in the destination country.

Yes, you can ship Lithium-Ion batteries under the following circumstances:

Batteries packaged with product separately in the same parcel (e.g. power tools)

Each battery must be <100Wh

Maximum number of batteries in each parcel = 2

Maximum number of parcels per consignment = 2

Max net battery weight per parcel = 5kgs

The Watt Hours (Wh) should be located on the outside of the battery. Typically cell phones, laptops and smaller consumer electronics use batteries with less than 100Wh. Use the formula Ampere Hours (Amps) x Voltage if Wh is not marked on the battery.

> Watt Hour Calculator

Parcels containing Lithium-Ion batteries are labelled accordingly in compliance with IATA (International Air Transport Association) transport of dangerous goods Section II Articles P1967.

Consider the following example:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IJ0ALYS/ref=asc_df_B00IJ0ALYS4658971?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&tag=shopzilla0d...

The specified power is 20 Volts (20V) and 1.3 Amper hours (Amps)

Using this information go to the Watt Hour Calculator and you will quickly determine the Watt Hours is 26Wh (< 100 Wh) and consequently it is permitted to ship by air!

Consolidation: the action or process of combining a number of things into a single more effective or coherent whole

Our trained parcel handlers combine your multiple parcels into one single parcel, one shipment, one delivery. You can save on average 75-80% compared with shipping these multiple parcels individually.

1. Of course, you must first have established an account with ZipKode.

2. You can estimate the shipping cost by using our Shipping Calculator. The total cost is calculated after the parcel has been prepared and made ready for shipping.

3. Register your incoming parcel at My Parcels immediately. It is very important to include the carrier tracking number provided to you by the seller.

     * If you do not include the carrier tracking number it will lead to delays

     * If ordering multiple items from the same seller, request that they are shipped together in a single parcel and not split into multiple parcels. If this is not possible please ensure that you register each parcel individually.

     * Tracking numbers are usually sent by the seller when your order has been shipped. If the seller does not send the tracking number please still ensure that you enter the order number in the parcel reference field.

4. When all your parcels arrive at ZipKode and you are ready to ship, select the parcels which you want to be consolidated into single parcels, then click Send. If you are waiting on other parcels, do not click Send as you cannot edit your parcels after making this step.

5. Please allow up to 24 hours for your parcel to be prepared for shipping. When prepared, the final cost is calculated and the status will change to 'Ready to Pay'.

6. When payment is complete, your parcel will be dispatched and on its way to you.

Yes, we do!

To calculate the charge for an oversized parcel, enter the parcel weight and dimensions in the Calculator. Note oversized parcels will not be consolidated with other items. Therefore please do not attempt to consolidate your snowboard and skis in the same parcel with your ski bindings and ski boots – that would make your parcel extra oversized and the delivery cost will increase substantially due to increased dimensional weight.

Bicycles are only accepted in the manufacturer’s original packaging and cannot be repackaged and consolidated with other purchases.

When marking your parcels for consolidation, please ensure they are compatible and there is no risk of one item damaging another.

We reserve the right to exclude from a consolidated parcel any items which we feel will result in compromising the integrity of the parcel's other contents (e.g. consolidating an iPad tablet with an 18kg speaker). Such items will remain at ZipKode and will be entered as a new item to be shipped as a separate parcel. Should you dispute our decision and insist on consolidating, we will carry out your request but there will be no possibility of insurance cover.

Yes. Some items cannot be legally shipped due to customs laws, delivery company and airline restrictions. Banned items can vary depending on which country you're shipping the items to. Examples of some items which we cannot ship include:

Firearms, guns

Ammunition, magazines

Poisonous substances

Damaged batteries

Items under pressure

Human Remains

Please check our list of prohibited items to determine whether your item can be shipped.

The dimensional weight refers to how the dimensions of the package are used in the calculation of the weight of a package based on size rather than the measured "gross weight".

International carriers charge the greater of either the actual weight or the dimensional weight based on the size of the box.

For example, a light but bulky parcel like a box of ping-pong balls, is likely to have a much greater dimensional weight than its actual weight.

Yes. You can use Zipkode to deliver to anyone, anywhere. You can save multiple destination addresses in your account profile and choose accordingly when you are ready to ship.

Consolidation: the action or process of combining a number of things into a single more effective or coherent whole

ZipKode has relationships with multiple carriers including DHL, FedEx, UPS, USPS, Landmark Global Bpost and others.

Some carriers may not always be offered to your destination. This may be determined by weight, size, commodity and other suitability factors.

Item return and replacement

No. ZipKode only ships outbound from the US to other countries. ZipKode does not offer a return service.

Please check the return policy of the seller. Many sellers will pay for returns, other will require you to coordinate and pay for the return yourself.

Return Paid by Seller: Request they provide you with a prepaid shipping label in PDF format.

Return Paid by You: Request they provide you with a 'return merchandise authorization' (RMA) number and the address to which the return should be sent.

Cost of returns is $8.00 Handling Fee + Shipping Cost. All the standard carriers (USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc.) collect from the ZipKode warehouse every day.

Insurance

Yes! Your shipments are automatically insured for $100.00. If your shipment is valued over $100.00 we strongly recommend that you select extended insurance coverage which costs $3.00 per $100.00 of declared value.

Insurance covers loss or damage to the items in your shipment plus international shipping costs. Insurance does NOT cover import duties and taxes, domestic shipping costs or damage to manufacturer’s packaging.

Some courier cover includes limited liability or no liability for antique or vintage items, jewelry, TVs, electronics, manufacturer’s box/packaging and prohibited goods. Please check with the courier for a complete list of prohibited items.

Please note that the insurance claim will be paid strictly in accordance with the value listed in the customs declaration, which is not permitted to exceed the actual market value of the item.

There is insurance available for damage or operational quality on items purchased from an Ebay.com auction. If there is no itemized packing list or invoice received with your parcel it will not be possible to make an insurance claim in the event of items missing. Please always insist the seller include a detailed itemized packing list. In the event that a packing list is not supplied and some items are missing on delivery, it will not be possible to confirm what items are missing, their quantity or their quality.

A seller’s ‘high rating’ will not be accepted as evidence in a claim.

If your shipment is valued over $100.00 we strongly recommend that you select extended insurance coverage which costs $3.00 per $100.00 of declared value.

1. When you receive your parcel, inspect the outside packaging very carefully, ensuring to inspect all sides including the bottom.

2. If the outer packaging appears damaged or deformed, the packing tape has been tampered with or reapplied, if you have reason to suspect that your parcel has been opened or repacked, you should demand a CARRIER’S STATEMENT from the courier.

3. Once you have the carrier's statement, you must tell the courier that you want to open your parcel and inspect the contents. If there are contents missing or damaged, the courier must complete a shipment report or survey that must include his/her first and last name, list every item, its value as well as the quantity of damaged or missing items. The report must be signed by the courier.

4. If you can see no package damage or signs of of tampering, but you still suspect that the parcel weight is less than indicated, you should firstly, if possible, re-weigh your parcel, and inform the courier that you would like to open the parcel and inspect its contents. It is the courier’s responsibility to complete a survey report indicating therein that the report has been prepared upon the customer’s request and that no other claims have been made by the customer.

5. Once the aforementioned documents have been completed, please notify ZipKode immediately sending us:

1) the carrier’s statement (in case of external damage)

2) the survey report

3) a photo of the parcel and the damaged areas

ZipKode will conduct all further investigation and determine claim acceptance or denial within 60 days.

• Once you have requested shipping, ZipKode will generally have your parcels prepared to ship within 24-48 hours (READY TO PAY).

• ZipKode to you: Transit time will depend on the carrier and service which you choose. ZipKode advises an estimated average transit times for each carrier and destination, but cannot guarantee transit times (PARCELS SHIPPED).

Please contact ZipKode. Our team will check with the carrier and assist you in resolving the delay.

You can also check with the carrier locally in your country - sometimes it is quicker and more efficient to do it this way! Either way, we are willing to assist.

No, unfortunately not! If your parcel is already in transit it is not possible to change the delivery speed or the method. Sorry!

Receiving & Storage

Our warehouse is open Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Parcels received will appear in your locker 24-48 hours after delivery to ZipKode.

ATTENTION! Sometimes USPS tracking will indicate that a parcel was delivered on SaturdaySunday (warehouse closed). These parcels are typically physically received on the following Monday or Tuesday. Please be patient!

Yes, we offer such services. We can upload item photos and carry out an invoice verification. These options are selectable when you create a new parcel.

Note we do not verify if electronic appliances are in working condition.

You will have to check the returns policy of the seller and make your own arrangements directly with the seller for return. Alternatively, you can arrange return to our warehouse with adequate instructions and agreement with the seller and we can assist with the return.

Parcels received at ZipKode are stored in your online 'locker'. A locker is a secure locked storage cabinet or cage. Contents of your locker can be viewed in 'MY PARCELS' when logged into your account.

You can store your parcels for up to 45 days free of charge. After 45 days a charge of $1.00 per day will be applied to each parcel. Storage fees continue to accrue until your parcel is shipped, discarded or returned to the sender.

You will see storage charges itemized on your invoice when the package is shipped or discarded.

All major carriers like USPS, FedEx, UPS, and courier services deliver daily to ZipKode. It is important to ensure that your full name and ZipKode locker number are included on the address label.

Some retailers offer on-demand delivery services, where a 2-hour or same-day delivery is offered using casual, part-time private delivery agents or private individuals to deliver their orders. These deliveries are extremely problematic and are not suitable for delivery to commercial locations such as ZipKode.

Typically there is no signature required, parcels are often dropped in doorways, left outside, or at the wrong address. Items are not adequately packed for onward international shipping, often dropped in plastic bags. Examples of such services are Instacart, Amazon Fresh, Amazon Prime Now, Walmart Express Delivery, Peapod, Uber, DoorDash and Postmates.

We cannot accept responsibility for orders delivered via these methods. It is important that you select standard delivery using the likes of UPS, FedEx or the US Postal Service.

Yes. All parcels are opened and contents are inspected by our trained handling staff. We closely inspect to ensure contents are not damaged and can be legally shipped overseas from the USA.
